Alternator Installation Instructions
Caution: Disconnect negative cable
from battery.
Note: Replace the regulator when
replacing externally regulated alternators and generators.
Note: There are often several different
types of OEM alternators for many import vehicles. Replacement
unit may physically appear different from original unit
but will functionally replace the OEM unit for specified
application.
Battery must be fully charged.
Battery
terminals & cables must be clean.
Check
for worn or cracked belt(s) & replace as necessary.
Tag
& mark location of each wire for proper reconnecting
later. Remove wire connections from alternator.
Check
to ensure that all wiring connectors on replacement
unit are compatible with those of the original unit
before installation.
Remove
upper and lower mounting bolts that attach alternator
to engine.
Ensure
that the correct pulley and fan (if any) are installed
on the replacement alternator.
Install
replacement alternator and hand tighten all mounting
bolts.
Place
drive belt in alternator pulley groove(s) and check
to ensure proper alignment.
Reconnect
each wire to its proper terminals.
Adjust
belt to correct tension (See Owners Manual).
Tighten
drive belt and all mounting bolts securely.
Reconnect
battery negative cable.
Turn
ignition switch to "on" position. Battery
indicator light should illuminate.
Start
engine. Battery indicator should go out. Let the engine
idle for 15 minutes to allow voltage to stabilize.
Check
to see if replacement alternator is charging correctly.
Stop
engine. Re-inspect belt tension, all attachments &
connections, adjust if necessary. Tighten them securely.

Starter Installation
Instructions

unit may physically appear different from original unit
but will functionally replace the OEM unit for specified
application.
Battery must be fully charged.
Battery
terminals and cables must be clean
Tag
& mark location of each wire for proper reconnecting
later. Remove wire connections from alternator.
Check
to ensure that all wiring connectors on replacement
unit are compatible with those of the original unit
before installation.
Remove
mounting bolts that attach starter to engine or transmission.
Install
replacement unit on vehicle.
Reconnect
all wires and cable connection and tighten mounting
bolts. All the wiring connectors and mounting bolts
must be correctly and securely fastened.
Reconnect
battery negative cable.
Start
engine.
If your starter does not function:
Check your ignition switch.
Check
your adjustment between starter drive and bell housing.
Recheck
battery, cables and wiring connectors to ensure proper
connection and cleanliness.
Check
your engine oil to ensure that it is not too heavy.
